D4G DETROIT 2020

So, you’re doing great work – fighting poverty, homelessness and discrimination -- yet nobody knows about it? What do you do? One solution is to take part in DESIGN FOR GOOD Detroit, a 24hr Design Marathon taking place in September during Detroit Month of Design, a project of Design Core. Twenty design students from local art colleges will donate over $20,000 in pro bono services to expand awareness of worthy community programs and causes. The designers’ final work will be unveiled to their assigned nonprofit during a D4G Reveal Event open to the public in late September at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

D4G aims to jumpstart nonprofit efforts to attract new donors, volunteers and media attention – which in turn brings additional resources to serve needy families. Previous D4G nonprofit have included The Fair Housing Council of Riverside County, Voices for Children, Axis Foundation, Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California, High Desert Homeless Services, Women of Noble Character, the anti-human trafficking initiative at Family Assistance Program, and The Orenda Foundation with shelter for homeless veterans.

Design for Good DETROIT is a project of Arts4Good. D4G and is a national initiative of AIGA , a catalyst for design-driven social change.  For event info, to volunteer or become an event sponsor, contact Reggie Woolery at: (909) 234-4782, or email rwoolery(at)thewright.org
